The Village of South Range is located in Houghton County in the western part of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. We're a community of 800 people in the UP's Copper Country, with access to many outdoor activities—snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing, hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, baseball, and so much more. Beautiful Lake Superior is nearby, as is Houghton, MI, site of Michigan Technological University (see map).

Co-op logo We are a co-operating community in the Keweenaw National Historical Park. The Copper Range Historical Society has its headquarters here; a current project involves the restoration of the Painesdale mine shaft.
